An argument for the reliability of Linux

I finally installed the 80 or so updates that had piled up on my old Latitude today, and before I restarted it, I checked my uptime stats. I'll let the screenshot speak for itself.

This machine is a Dell Latitude C600. It boasts a Pentium III 850, 512MB of SDRAM and has a sticker for Windows 2000 Pro on the bottom. It's no fancy server that's expected to run for months on end. It's an ancient laptop that runs 20+ Firefox tabs and Pidgin all day, then gets its lid slapped shut and sleeps all night. And it still ran for more than two months.
